So Goes The Church – Part 2

I believe with all my heart, that :As goes the Preaching,..So Goes the Church. If you want to know thefuture of the Lord’s church,… look at the preaching Ephesians 4:11-12New International Version 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

The Church and Truth

Ephesians 2:19-21English Standard Version 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,[a] but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.

So Goes The Church

•Ira North used to say often:“As the Sunday School goes,so goes the congregation.” •If I may be so bold as to add to that by saying:“As the Preaching goes,so goes the Sunday School, andSo Goes the Church.” •Where is that army of preachers?1.Missionaries are out there—churches are sending2.Missionaries can be thanked for being the first to look to a new generation of preachers3.May their tribe increase Ephesians 4:11-12New International Version 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip…

The Road to Progress

If you:1.Listen to sermons just to affirm your present beliefs, you have come to the wrong place 2.Read the Bible to support you present religious ideas and practices, you have come to the wrong book 3.Believe that listening is something that is best done by the other person, you have come to the wrong Jesus. 4.Seek to insert Jesus’ teachings into the philosophies of this world, then you will never hear what Jesus is actually saying. 5.Are willing to hold…

Together – Apart

Be at peace with all men. Back in lockdown Only 10 can gather for worship due to Covid Covid is a virus that has affected many. Is it a medical, politic and inconvenient, the answer is YES! We must make the most of every opportunity to glorify God. These are “civilian matters” not spiritual 2 Timothy 2:4 4 No one in military service gets entangled in matters of everyday life; otherwise he will not please[a] the one who recruited him.

Godly Relationships

Colossians 4:5 5 Conduct yourselves[a] with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunities. 1 Peter 3:15 15 But set Christ[a] apart[b] as Lord in your hearts and always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope you possess.[c] As christians we are all about new connections. Christianity is all about relationships. There are different aspects to God’s relationship with us individually as well as His relationship with the church. There are relationships between Christians in the church.

The Discipline of God

Hebrews 12:7 7 Endure your suffering[a] as discipline;[b] God is treating you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline? Sometimes we go through our christian lives thinking that God is trying to get us. The point is God is n to trying to get you. Does God discipline us, yes he most certainly does.
