In the Light of the Cross
Perspective—It’s how you see it!
In the pre-internet days, there was a boy and a girl who grew up as
neighbours. Finally, he went West seeking his fortune, and she went East.
Both mothers devoured the incoming letters and bragged about how well
their darling child was going. One day each received mail. One beamed with
glee. She said, “My daughter has found love. She has met and married the
greatest man on earth. He brings her breakfast in bed every morning, washes
the dishes, cleans the apartment and discusses every detail of his day before
he leaves for work.” The other looked grim. She said, “Lucky her! My son
THINKS he has found love. He has met and married the laziest girl in the
world. She expects breakfast in bed every morning, makes him to do the
dishes, doesn’t lift a finger to clean up the apartment and demands every
detail of his day before he even leaves for work.”
