Impossible!#1. “No other name.”

Impossible!#1. “No other name.”

Have you noticed that most Christians believe that they have a moral duty to change, or maintain societal standards? Though we do not see this command written anywhere in the New Testament, it most certainly hasn’t stopped any of us from trying. There are vital issues to speak out against, but curing the issues does not cure the real problem; the sin-sick soul.

Wise was the man who said, “Everyone has the same cross-shaped hole in their heart, and only Jesus can fill it.”

This, of course, makes us all equal in the eyes of God.

It also immediately changes the way we treat every person we meet. We now see them as being equal to us. As people who have exactly the same need—Jesus!

It was into this universally desperate need that the apostles spoke this message of hope: “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Yes, Jesus claims exclusive rights over each and every soul. He will not share heart-space with anyone else. So be careful not to agree with those trying to fit Jesus into a contemporary pantheon of gods. They are perverting the gospel. We must stand strong and acknowledge these ‘other gods’ for what they are; figments of man’s imagination—the works of Satan.

Such preaching elicits adverse reactions. People can hate you, and in some places, you will be killed for blaspheming their god.

Jesus offers ‘Life in His name to all. Take it!

It is impossible to be saved by anyone else, or anything else, other than Jesus. Because He is Lord and Saviour.

Thomas said to Jesus, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me” (Jn.14:5-6).
