Wisdom shouts in the street #4. “He stores up sound wisdom.”

Wisdom shouts in the street #4. “He stores up sound wisdom.”

One-stop shops have become commonplace. But I must admit that my very first visit to a Walmart in the USA was an eyeopener. In no place that I had ever been could a customer get his car serviced while he shopped for anything from groceries to guns. Add to this the Online Amazon empire, and the customer has come to expect what he wants…when he wants it.

God too has a Mega-store. In it we can find every possible variety of Wisdom from Above needed to advance the soul of man. But sadly, despite that it never closes, never loses service, and never runs out of stock, it is less frequented than its earthly counterparts.

James says concerning this Wisdom: “If you ask you will get!” (James 1:5). However, like anyone who is unwilling to meet the conditions specified, those who cast doubt upon what God is offering, will leave as upset and empty handed as they arrived (James 1:6). Later, James adds, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures” (James 4:3).

You would think that every Christian would spend every spare minute of their day putting in as many orders for this “Wisdom from Above” as possible. Afterall, God promises “guaranteed delivery for everything that is asked according to His will” (1 John 5:14).

Without the Bible we would have no idea of what God’s will is for us, and no idea of what to pray for “according to that will.” Scripture says,

“For the LORD gives wisdom;

From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:6).

If you found out today that you had membership to the greatest storehouse of blessings possible, what would you do?

Then do it…!

“He stores up sound wisdom for the upright” (Proverbs 2:7).
